Great cars. I have one and have DD's and tracked it with over 200k on it. Replacement motors can be had for spare change from old 740i's, and body parts/etc from a jillion junkyard e30's...and you get to drive a near 300hp v8 manual trans RWD car that may be faster (and definitely cheaper) than US M3's of the sample era. Although to play devils advocate, the same year 525i's can be turboed, make more power, and be worked on more easilly.

I wasn't looking for a 540i, although I like them a lot. I'm looking for a 98-02 Trans Am.
